Impact

Cultivating change.

Kyrie Farm is modelled on therapeutic farms including Gould Farm, founded in 1913 and Cooperriis Farm, founded in 2003. Therapeutic farms exist to help adults with mental health challenges move toward recovery, health, and greater independence.

The Therapeutic Farm Model is based on over 100 years of innovation, hope and healing.

Reduced negative Symptoms

The Global Assessment of Functioning measures, has showed marked improvements for Hopewell Farm guests including reduced negative symptoms and increased social functioning.

Increased Independent Living

Gould Farm have reported a doubling of independent living capability of guests from prior to admission to 18 months post leaving the farm.

Increase    Employment

Gould Farm has delivered major shifts in paid employment for their guests post leaving the farm.

Where we are now?

Kyrie Farm is a working farm with a growing community of volunteers.

There is now a fully established horticulture farm growing a vast array of vegetables and selling vegetable boxes to customers across Kildare and Dublin. The farm has completed its two year conversion process to an organic farm.

One volunteer commented “Kyrie Farm is already helping many people” and so helping people on the journey to building the farm is an important aspect of what Kyrie Farm is about.

Transformative Research Partnership

with Maynooth University

Kyrie Farm’s collaboration with Maynooth University’s psychology department marks a pivotal step in our journey toward creating a pioneering therapeutic environment. With support from the Irish Research Council, our research partnership is shaping Kyrie Farm’s future by synthesising global insights and identifying implementation barriers. This dynamic collaboration underscores our commitment to excellence as we prepare to realise our vision on our 57-acre farm in County Kildare.
